My kitchen ceiling is not very dirty, but it's got a thin layer of grease/dust covering most of it. I've been using a step ladder and a sponge to clean it, which has turned out to be an efficient method, but it's also time-consuming and tiring.

I'm thinking of just using a mop to clean it.

Does anyone know of a better way to clean a kitchen ceiling?

i use a sponge-head mop and sudsy amonia solution. it disolves grease and you don't have to rinse it. with the sponge mop, you can reach everywhere and do it quicker than by hand.

You could certainly try a swiffer with some grease cutting solution on the cloth BUT be aware that it may not come as clean as you hope. Oil seeps into paint and it might be that your best answer is just to put a fresh coat of white paint up instead.

Your question cracked me up before I read the details. I thought, "Oh my God, what exploded?!"

A damp sponge mop with grease solvent cleaner sounds like a good idea, unless you've considered actually repainting it. Good thing you don't have that "popcorn" stuff on it.
