Razor burn. Try using soap and water or wetting your legs before you use shaving cream. Don't forget to wet the razor as well.

razor burn,...
you're holding the razor at a bad angle or the srtokes are at a bad angle, not enough lubrication - what kind of soap are you using? Either use a shaving gel like skintimate (i perfer it, and there are some delightful new scents too) or a beauty bath bar, not ordinary bath soap. Caress Dove or even Tone is good in a pinch because they have extra moisterizers in them.
How old is the razor, If you shave every day or every other day, swap out a new razor (if its a disposeable) or new blade cartridge every two weeks at the very least. The razors get dull eventually, you do shave other things too - right? and accidentally putting them down wrong can make them dull too.
Hmmmm what else can you do,....Initially use gentle strokes slow ones, don't use too much pressure, you're forcing the blades into your skin, when you're supposed to let the blades do the work of "shaving". By using too much pressure, the blades are biting into your skin and just making the "razor burn' worse than it has to be, or not at all.
Good luck!!!

Haha, this is funny. The cause of itching is dry skin. When you shave you are taking off a layer of natural oils that your body produces. Use a light moisturizer after shaving and before you add deodorant/antiperspirant.

I have wanted to ask this question before but I guess I kept forgetting. I have even tried to not shave for a few days and see if that helps, I have changed deoderants and razors, etc. all to no avail. It sucks and must have something to do with our skin being sensitive... I think that it may also have something to do with deoderant getting into the follicle after we shave but I have even gone a few days without it (I don't really sweat) to see if that would help...it didn't.

First and foremost, make sure your armpits have been exposed to water, shave cream or body wash before shaving. This softens the hair and preps it for shaving. You might want to try using the "Intuition" razor which has built in skin conditioners for sensitive skin and there is no need for shaving cream. I tend to use conditioner with it when I shave my bikini area. This really helps.

Plucking (tweezing), Shaving, Depilatory creams and Waxing are temporary hair removal methods.
Waxing usually lasts for 3 weeks, but it is painful.
Electrolysis and laser hair removal are "permanent" hair removal methods but are expensive and you have to find a trained professional, otherwise your skin could be damaged.
A review of the various hair removal methods is available at http://tinyurl.com/ob6tt

I guess it is because you also shave off a layer of armpit skin and the skin gets irritated., try putting moisturiser on afterwards.

try a different razor because it's most likely razor burn. i recommend shick intuition because it shaves and moisturizes in one step. after you shave follow up with a moisturizer like Rex Eme Cream. also, press lighter with your razor.
