It would probably be best if you ask your physician. In the mean time, there are several ways that you can boost your immune system. Try to eat a diet rich in anti-oxidents. Take vitamin supplements like Vitamin C (two to three times the stated dosage, it is not harmful and what your body does not use will just "pass" through you). Also vitamin E and Zinc will help you battle any infections that are trying to bring you down. There is a "green" vitamin called "Spirulina," and that has more protein in one tablet than a whole single-portioned steak. It is full of B vitamins, and the green acts as a blood cleanser and purifier, helping you to rid all of those nasty, infectious little creatures that want to bring us "down." Hope this helps and as far as the innoculations go, you need to tell a physician-they are the expert.
Have a great time in India-I have always wanted to visit. Such beauty and the people are delightfully real...

There's most likely a hospital with a travel clinic in your area. I wentt for an extended time in 2001. I had to get a Polio Vaccine, Hep A (this one needs a back up shot a few months after) Typhoid, and Tetnus. Malaria is always an issue there. You can get a pill called Larium that will work, but it can have some side effects. I don't like taking pills so just make sure you always apply insect reppellant and ALWAYS sleep under a mosquito net. India is such a beautiful place. Enjoy. Varanasi was sooooooo beautiful.
