you will probably have to do the normal jumps (toe touch and herky's) also they will probably teach you a cheer and a dance that you will have to do at try outs. remember always give facials(big smiles) and always act like your having fun even if your not, you will get picked for sure. Good luck.

For starters, if you're a novice, you'll belong in a freshmen squad (for high school and college.) If it's for the community or junior high, it's the same. You have to show up at every practice and learn your routine and cheers. You do have to pay for an uniform. You've got to
do some acrobatic stunts and do some gymnastic stunts too. If you have previous cheerleading experience, like cheerleading camp, it helps. You've got to recite a cheer by yourself and do the choreographed routine. You use a megaphone and pom-poms and banners and signs. Good luck!

It really depends on what the coaches ask for in the team, some might ask for tumbling, and for you to learn a dance and cheer. At my school we had to learn a dance and a cheer and do some jumps, and if you could tumble it was a plus.

When I tried out, they taught everyone a cheer and that's what you did at try outs. It would help you if you can do gymnastics or at least some gymnastics. Be peppy and loud. They should give you some pointers at tryouts.

You need to be able to do good jump, be stiff when you cheer, be loud, have a lot of personality when your performing.... stuff like that... Focus on personality, a lot of the other stuff you can work on.
