I am 34 weeks and I have been having the WORST nausea and this morning I vomited upon waking up. I have heard that this can be linked to different illnesses, including listeria.

You should always check with your doctor, but as far as I know your symptoms sound very normal. Every woman (and every pregnancy) is different and morning sickness is quite common, at any time of pregnancy. I wouldn't worry too much about it, but check with your o.b. just in case.

I had no morning sickness with my daughter until the very beginning and the very end of the pregnacy, myself. Then, it only lasted a few weeks and was not indicative of any complications or problems.

Baby is taking up ALL the room right now - crowding your digestive process. Not to mention the fact of how far along you are - you may need to be drinking a little more water than usual.

Dehydration can also cause nausea. Especially in summer heat. Make sure you're taking small sips. And, call your OB.
If you're running a fever over 101, you'll need to see a doctor right away. Or a fever of 100 that lasts for a few days.

Yes, listeria will make you vomit but I doubt you have it. Have you eaten blue vein cheese or seafood lately? My ms was the worst when I first woke up also, I think mine was to do a bit with low blood sugar from no food. Go get yourself checked out if it's bothering you, but ms in the 3rd trimester is quite common.

I would 100% call my Dr. about that one but, during your last trimester the uterus is so high up in your abdomen that it pushes against your stomach. Many women lose weight the last few weeks since they get fuller faster.
If you feel your not holding anything down this is really bad and should be addressed right away with a medical professional. Many insurance companies have a triage nurse you can call to ask questions so you don't always have to run to the emergency room.
Good Luck!

Is the vomiting and nausea something that just started or been continuous throughout the whole pregnancy? My friend was "ill" up until the end with her daughter. If this is something new for you I would ask my doctor just to be safe, especially since you are so close to delivery date

A friend of mine had hyperemesis her entire pregnancy, but if it just started, I would call the ob/gyn immediately or go to the ER. Your health and the health of your unborn child aren't worth taking a risk on. Most likely, you might have picked up a bug or eaten something that didn't agree with you, but go with your gut instinct. If something just doesn't feel right, get to the doc or the ER immediately. Congratulations on the coming arrival!

Yes it is normal in the last trimester. It's normal throughout the whole pregnancy but if you feel it something more serious then I would suggest that you go see your doctor. Good Luck
