A bit of both....If I see something i like I buy it. Advertising is there to make you aware and sell the benefits of buying something. I'e' I seen an advert for a smoothie the other day and it looked lushty lush lush so i got a one. i also seen an advery for Ice tea and I hate ice tea so I though i'm not gonna but it

Neither really. I spend my money on things I can afford. I don't reall bother with adverts. We tend to watch mostly BBC anyway, so we don't have a lot of tv advertising! Sometimes I might see and ad for something interested and think I might rty it out but generally, I'll get what I choose and not what someone else is trying to tell me to buy. Tesco Value are making quite a bit from me at the minute!

I ignore advertising. I find it irritating and I will not buy goods which are constantly in my face because if you have to try that hard then you either have a bad product or you are charging too much. I buy what I need not what advertisers tell me I want. I particularly don't appreciate body function products which are pushed on TV when I am having me dinner.

That is a brilliant question. I spend it on what i need and on what i want. I tend to avoid products that are heavily advertised because they are most of the time more expensive. When it comes to food i will try something once in a while on the basis of advertising but as far as the rest is concerned i really couldn't care less what their market research says. That soap that is 3/4 moisturiser makes me itch like hell.

advertising is so subliminal nowadays that it's hard not to buy something as suggested on tv otherwise no-one would pay more for branded names like coca cola, cadbury's or nike...i try for general items to try and get bargains, but then advertising helps me to identify which shops provide the best bargains. lets face it advertising affects you whether you wish to acknowledge it or not. unless you are completely self sufficient....even a recommendation from a friend is a form of advertising!

i try not to let advertising influence my purchasing but sometimes i fall into the mainstream and buy some things i think i would like. but i try to think of what they are trying to sell me, if i could actually use it/need it. say i go into the store, the local walmart for instance, and i see Tylenol on the shelf, i look at the price and i search for the off brand. i don't want to pay two extra cents for the damn name, do i? so i let my mind make up what affects my buying.

HAHA you people know you buy stuff that is advertised to you. Obviously it affects what people buy or they wouldn't advertise! They just advertise so good, that what you think you WANT is actually what ADVERTISING tells you to buy!
