My husband died 20 years ago this year, and I'll never ever forget him.

If I die, I expect some people will forget me sooner and some later, depending on how much I was a part of their lives.

The people who have to go through my belongings will curse me for eternity.

It depends on who the people are and what kind of person you were. Your boss will be putting an ad in the paper the afternoon you die and will have replaced you by the end of the week. The neighbors will remember you until your house is sold and new people move in. Those who truly love you will remember you and speak of you all their lives. My grandfather died when my mother was five years old. Her family always spoke of him with love and respect and I shall always regret not having known him.

Depends on how loved your were, if a loving parent or Brother/Sister, or partner dies you never forget them, it get easier to live with but you never really forget, But if it is someone you read about in the paper than it is as long as it takes you to read the story

It depends upon the kind of live that the deceased lived and upon the kind of folks who loved the deceased. My spouse died a year ago in Maryland Specialty Hospital in Baltimore. We had been married 40 years and have three daughters and five grandchildren. I expect that someone will be remembering my spouse forever..

I think much depends on how you lived your life. We have this moment - right now - to make someone's life better. To smile at a stranger, offer a neighbor help, watch out for the neighborhood kids, etc. Once that moment passes its gone. If a person lives fully, and embraces those moments, they will be remembered for a very long time indeed.
