I love u2 but my friend thinks green day are better. its obvious u2 are better

Me and my brother have been having this debate for some time and although U2 are great and I do love them...If i were to go to any of their gigs/concerts - it would have to be good old Green Day.
It must be said though, that I prefer Green Day's old material much more than their new more commercialised stuff.
I went to see Green day at MK Bowl and I have to say it was the best gig of my life - I can't believe I turned around and missed the part when Billie Joe sort of...mooned ;)
Damn me and my bad timing.
Yep - Green Day are more fun, have a hot hot hot front man and...I love their music of course :)
But er...U2 are alright....

Have Green Day been around since 1978? Nope. They're a good band, but you don't stay around as long as U2 unless you're something special. Also, U2's body of work is enormous, Green Day only have a handful of hits to their name.

My vote is for Green Day. U2 stopped being good over a decade ago in my opinion.

green day, without a doubt. they've recorded one bad album; u2 have at least five. the only u2 album on par with green day's music is achtung baby
why do people say green day sold out? they've adapted to survive

Difficult decision:
U2, "I am going to solve all the problems of the world with YOUR money" and Green Day "rich California kids playing to be tough in the neighbourhood"... The Ramones are the best.
I like U2, GD songs but I don't take them seriously.
