I'm an A's fan, actually, but I can't stand the Red Sox!!! So anytime the Yanks beat the Sox nowadays, I'm happy! =D
Great job, Yanks, outscoring the Sox 39-20 so far in the first three games of the series. Did you know it's the first time in history the Sox have allowed 12 runs or more in three straight games? Remember the Boston Massacre of 1978--well, I don't, actually, but I just read on the Boston site that in that "Massacre," the Yankees swept the Sox in a four-game series at Fenway, outscoring them 42-9. Could this be the "Boston Massacre, part II"?
I lived in Boston for 2 1/2 years and all the fans do is complain about their own team. After every loss, there's about a 1,000 people calling in WEEI Radio, criticizing the manager for not bunting in the second inning or whatever--yeah, bunting in the second inning, very smart...everybody's an armchair manager there. They even ran poor Grady Little out of town because they blamed him--of all things--for losing the 2003 AL Championship Series to the Yanks because he didn't pull Pedro out in the 8th inning in time! I mean, come on--gimme a break!!! I remember listening to the radio after the playoff loss to the yanks the next morning (naked--just kidding!). One guy even asked, "How come Theo Epstein didn't just walk down to the dugout in that 8th inning and fire Grady Little right there and then? I would have! Rather than risk him messing up the game more, which he did. Grady Little stole a world championship away from us 'cause we were going to beat the Florida Marlins." (Yeah, right.) I was like, damn...these people have no sense about what it is to be human beings. They deserved what they got in 2003 with that Aaron Boone home run on that hapless flutterball of Wakefield's. I was so happy to see the Sox go down (after what Derek Blowe did to the A's with that obscene gesture, grabbing his crotch after the last out of the Divisional Series). I so wanted Blowe to be the one to cough up the winning gopher ball to the Yanks, but oh well, you can't have everything.
And how can Sox fans be saying "Yankees suck" here after they've been outscored by the Yanks 39-20 in three games--and trailing them by 4 1/2 games in the standings? If the Yankees suck, what are the Red Sox, who are behind them? You guys have no pitching. Two guys have allowed 25 or more home runs this year--Curt Schilling 25, and Josh Becket 32! And Wakefield allowed 14 home runs in only 19 starts. Yikes. And who's this guy--I'm looking at the records right now: 3-12 record for the Sox as a starting pitcher, Jason Johnson (he just got demoted after the doubleheader with the Yanks). Three and twelve? What's that? And yet the Yankees suck?
Stop drinking that Dunkin' Donuts coffee in Boston, people. It's loaded with sugar and it's all going to your head. You guys will be lucky to meet the A's in the divisional playoffs again. We're finally gonna get over the game-5 hump!!!
