It sounds like you fell behind in support payments and even though the laws are different in each state, that state can and will do whatever they have to do to enforce their child support payment law. Unfortunately, you have found out what your state can do and this is pretty much the same worldwide now. You may be able to petition the court for a temp license on the grounds that you need them to work to make payments. You will probably have to come up with some kind of payment plan to catch up your arrearages along with a guarantee you will make them, cause the courts now view you as a deadbeat dad until you prove otherwise. You dont want your arrearages to get any higher or else you could go to jail and then your problems will really mount. Sorry for this answer and wish I could offer a better solution but its todays law. Good luck

I know there are some cases where a person with no license can get a permit to drive to and from work only.check with the Drivers license office, the Clerk of court, and possibly even a judge to see if you qualify for a permit if you do go to work make payment arrangements to pay more than what has been ordered for child support so it can go against your back child support and Take care of your kid/kids

Is it possible to get them back if you catch up the payments? Do you or relatives have any savings? Do you have relatives in another area that has public transportation that you could move in with.It looks like you'll have to depend on taxi's, friends or car pool (two or more people get together and share transportation). I can't help but wonder if you had a job, why your child support wasn't paid? Maybe you could appeal afterall she isn't benefitting from you being out of work.

I'm certain that this didn't "just happen" It only happens when the person in arrears willfully fails to pay, and continues doing so despite warnings. So, now that it finally happens, you whine. Well, now I guess you need to move somewhere that does have buses or some form of mass transit. And pay your child support. It IS a court order, not a suggestion.

Child support should be paid, before you worry about your own problems. So I bet you can't pay the child support because you have no job, no way to get to work,
Well, you did have a job and tags and registration on
the car before, maybe if you paid the child support then
you wouldn't be asking what to do !! I'm glad to see that
someone is being forced to pay child support !!!!!
