when the media and government (and maybe even some churches, I have to assume) portray all arabs and muslims in a bad light, saying they're all the same all bad, demonizing them and dehumanizing them so people can go along with government policies..people actually believe it?? not all but many are that dumb. my question is, what's the reason? I went to a US public school, was born and raised here- I read 1984, brave new world etc I looked at histories of unjust agression and instance where government had propaganda machines that nobody questioned and how it led to massacres...the difference is..here's my theory...maybe the alcohol killed most functioning brain cells for them? what do you think

ok I'll say it's not alcohol, it
s just tradition- some are intelligent and question the government narrative, others (the majority) do not. I just wish it were the majority who were rational. maybe it's easier to ignore reality, what Sartre calls bad faith- avoiding the responsibility that comes with freedom.

It's called FEAR. Fear is a great controlling factor. The Republicans are using it to try and stay in office. Claims are made that by voting Democrat you're in essence voting for the terrorists. It's completely insane!! Churches do it to appease and keep congregants. If you don't believe like we tell you to do and follow our tenets, you'll go straight to hell!!! You're question is right on the money and I for one think it's time to stand up with courage and demand the truth!!! I have Muslim friends who love America and hate terrorists. There are lots of them. When government can create a "you're either with us or against" us mentality it's sad because a lot of people fall for the crap. Alcohol can't be blamed for all of it!! You have to have brain cells in order to have some killed right???

No I think there is calculated propaganda going on today just like 1984 and Brave New World portrayed it. This country is ruled by people who are bankrupting our nation through reckless spending habits, who have their priorities all wrong. Our duty as a people and a country should be to help others in need through humanitarian aid, education and health care not through flexing our military might on every continent on the globe. I do not buy this rationale that we are fighting terrorism in the free world. Terrorism is the boogie man of this generation. If this really was a problem then why has there not been more acts such as 911 on American soil. We should get out of other countries business through any military occupation and just join in humanitarian aid and let the people of each country set up their own government and policing authority. There are too many proud pretentious men in our government and pride goeth before a fall. Bring back Jimmy Carter!

I was with you until the alcohol bit, but I see you took that back. The short answer is money. Almost all media in the US is controlled by half a dozen huge companies. Look up to see who own the TV companies. Wars are good for generating money. And it is a citizen's duty to question government. The government works for us, at our pleasure, and only with our consent.

Most believe these things are true because they do not think outside of the little box inside their head...Society or even their family makes the agree to these things and when they see that well some of these crimes have been committed they blame only the people that are not to say on their side and they cant see that even though they are Americans their country has also been guilty for many crimes...yes this is my opinion

Because many Americans are ruled by inertia. Easier to believe propaganda than find out for ourselves. And what better way to keep a war(s) going than brain wash us? War means money, honey, and we are a consumer-oriented society. Once out of the country, one learns that most people in the world dislike us for all the killing, greed, interfering and inhumane acts we have committed on other cultures.

Its easier to be dumb, especially when your friends are the same. Why listen to different views! As for your theory that alcohol wiped out all functioning brain cells; be careful, I'm Irish! LOL

Honestly, the whole concept of Jihad is mildly disturbing to those of us who do not follow the teachings of Mohommed.
I agree there is propoganda in our media. But to be fair, Al Jazeera pumps out a lot of propoganda which I believe travels far from the truth. Instead of focusing on non-Muslim behavior, why not try to influence those of your own faith who are the extremists? I know they are a minority giving all of you a bad name, but as long as they exert terror on innocent lives your entire religion will be branded as primitive criminals.

Sir, that coudn't be further from the truth. All I EVER hear is how the people you mention need to be treated fairly. The media is your friend, trust me. My entire nation tries harder than you could POSSIBLY believe, to understand all points of view. It's amazing that we still exist....we try to please EVERYONE. Good luck to you ,friend.
