I have just about every U2 album released which you would think makes me a fan! But I have to say I can only manage a few tracks from each album before I've had enough! I think may be I've aquired them from ex girlfriends who no longer want them when we split up, cause I never remember buy one! lol

Well their songs aren't depressing. Beautiful Day, Vertigo, Where The Streets Have No Name.... really joy-filled songs like few other bands can match. Ok they don't right about boy meets girl and has a bit of fun type stuff but there's an optimism and hope in their lyrics that's unusual.
No, I don't think they are over-rated, I think they're possibly under-rated, but we won't know how good they were until they've gone! Few artists are considered true legends in their time.

NO!!!!! They are one of the few really good rock bands left. They are the best band in the world and I don't care what you think. Their songs aren't lame or depressing. And the band members are definatly not lame. I personally think U2 is under rated. If you want to listen to some lame music, go listen to panic!!!!!!!!!! at the disco or fallout boy and all those other lame MTV bands. *gag*

Bono is a pretentious twaat but U2 as a band are pretty damn good. You cant blame the other 3 for Bono being a prize waanker

Never liked U2, the songs are the same old thing every time & Bono just seems to believe he's god.

Yes, I agree majority of their songs are mostly to do with the way the world is and death, depression, apathy and the likesare mostly what they sing about.
But, after saying that, I still think that they are a great band and Bono is a great humanitarian. There is nothing wrong with that.
