I want to thank you 4 for answering, there were no changes in diet, he had plenty of water. I woke up to day and he was sick, thats why I'm back so soon writing, I just found him, laying on his side barely had a heart beat. He was still warm, laying in his favorite place, his brother is pissed, thumping allover the place. All I could do was pet him as he died, let him know he was loved, and would be missed. Then I had to tell my son. I cried more than him. Anyway thank you for your answers, just .......thank you.

Thanks again to everyone that answered, and for sympothies. He was eating good up til that morning, and drinking. I fed him, and the others, this blend you can get at the pet store or they sell it at Wal-Mart. It has timothy hay in it, I've been feeding it to my rabbits for years. It's 'Wild Harvest' it has a lot of good stuff in it, but I also put a little oats in it, they love it. Right now I'm worried his brother is very depressed, they were always together. He is taking this hard, he has never been without Bandit. He has started sleeping in Bandit's spot instead of his, I'm trying to pay more attention to him, but he is still in mourning.

I am so sorry to hear about your poor bunny. It sounds like he was well taken care of and had a wonderful life. If your other bunny begins to show any symptoms and you are unable to get to the vet right away, I have had enormous amounts of luck over the years with both bunnies and hamsters with wet tail by giving them a solution of 1 teaspoon of bismuth ( pepto-bismol) diluted in a quarter cup of water and changing the water in their cage to pedialyte. Also remove all food except some good quality, not dusty, timothy hay.

Sounds like "wet tail" rabbits are very prone to this condition especially if you feed it juicy foods such as iceberg lettuce etc. Here is information about how to deal with the problem....

Loose Droppings (AKA Wet Tail)

By Deirdre Kelly

Loose droppings are a problem that will require immediate attention. Because of the rabbit's sensitive intestinal process, loose droppings are a symptom of a variety of illnesses. Regardless of the cause, you'll want to take this category of afflictions very seriously.

Dietary Inadequacies
Diarrhea is most often due to poor diet or hasty changes in diet. Remember that your rabbit's system is super sensitive and that you'll need to introduce new foods singly and slowly. Also, your rabbit will react if his fiber and protein levels are imbalanced.

Hair/Fur Balls
Diarrhea can be due to the presence of a hairball in the stomach. Remember that rabbits cannot vomit, so a hairball in the stomach is a serious and unwelcome intruder.

Enteritis and/or Mucoid Enteritis
Enteritis is an inflammation of the bowel. Causes can range from bacterial infection, to worms or protozoal parasites resulting from poor cage hygiene.

Tysser's Disease
Diarrhea is also a symptom of this disease, which is caused by a bacterium. Your rabbit will need prescription medications so veterinary care is a must.

Salmonella
Contaminated food and/or bedding are likely to be the culprit here. Contact with carriers (possibly non-symptomatic) can also spread the illness.

What to Do
Regardless of the cause of the loose droppings, you'll need to take immediate action:

Call your vet and describe the problem. Be sure to include the duration and frequency of the problem.

Continue offering liquids.

Your vet will probably need to send samples of the droppings to the lab, so bring some with you to your appointment, just in case Buggs' bowels aren't cooperating.

Isolate the rabbit from your other rabbits immediately. It's likely to be too late, but it's worth the effort.

If other rabbits are in the affect cage, disinfect it thoroughly immediately.

What were you feeding him ? I know you said no changes in his diet but what was his diet ? He probably had a bad case of coccidiosis, clean his area very well & hope that your other rabbit doesnt get sick. Sorry to hear about it dying

If your other rabbit develops diahreah feed it only hay, oats ( like oatmeal, not instant though!) and yogurt to get the good bacteria back into its gut. You can also give it pedialyte.

Diareah can kill a rabbit in less than two days. Take him to the vet. NOW. Otherwise, he'll die of dehydration.

It could be caused by a number of things, and without seeing him, I couldn't tell you for sure.

No matter what, it could be deadly.

My bunny used to get the runs once in a while... I wouldn't worry about it too much UNLESS it continues more than a day or two. Make sure he has lots of water available to stay hydrated, and keep him warm. If it keeps up, call a vet!! Don't take too many chances, bunnies are delicate creatures.

If he got to much lettuce or any cabbage that ca do it. Be very careful that he does not dehydrate they can very easily. You might want to call your vet and ask about giving something to help him.
