Because it's very difficult to amend the Constitution, and there really hasn't been much of a need.

It's only with the recent popular uproar about immigration that anyone has even taken an interest in the natural-born-citizen aspect.

I have suggested amending it. I have suggested that a few times in answers to questions posted here. My suggestion for amending the 14th was even picked as best answer -- by someone who didn't agree with me 100% but at least appreciated the amount of thought I put into my suggestion.

Of course, the way I want to amend Section 1 may not be the same way you want to amend it.

Why does it need amended? If people would just pay attention to it and enforce it some things around here would be better.

Because the phrase "... without due process of law" means different things to different people.
