I wanna make a shirt that refers Harry Potter, and i was hoping to put something under the words on the back that is a Harry potter symbol. I was hoping for some suggestions for subtle and slightly eye catching symbols or pictures, etc. Something not everyone would recognize. I put this under movies since i couldn't find a books category, but i want something more from the book.

What about an owl w/an envelope? Not necessarily Hedwig, but a post owl. Maybe delivering a Howler.

What about a brown frog, like the chocolate frogs they eat? Not a lot of people would get the reference straight away. A pensive, the whomping Willow, could be mistaken for just a tree. What about the sign from the leaky cauldron, or 3 interlocking W's for Wesley's Wizard Wheezes, A boot like the portkey in book 4, a dogs foot print (Sirius is a dog) or 4 overlapping prints of a rats, werewolf, dog and stag print, or you could have them in a circle. There are loads I really cant think of any right now though :-).

It's really whatever works for you. It's a little too subtle for me. And if you know you won't regret it then I would trust your judgment (unless you're like 16.) I have a Lord of the rings tattoo and a Where the wild things are tattoo and I love both of them. I'm not a kid, never a regret.

and you can put a spider on the back.
it can also be

and a picture of whatever.
