Well if you are talking about the physical aspects of the earth, you might be talking about "geology" which studies the rocks, structures, etc.; "geomorpholgy" which studies the landforms; "geophysics" which studies the physical properties of the earth (such as motion, seismology, etc.); "geography" which studies the influences of man on the earth (such as boundaries, use of landforms, etc.);

Geology is the science that deals with the Earth's changes and their results. It also determines when they happen.
