This is truly one of life's greatest mysteries. I think that dryers are really portals to a different planet with aliens that have three feet. Once our socks enter the dryer, they abscond with at least half of them!

That can certainly be an annoying thing to happen, I used to lose my socks all the time. Have you tried looking around the house? Behind the washing machine? Sometimes they're in places you could never imagine.

This is really freaky, a few years ago I wrote to my M.P. asking him to get the government to set up an inquiry into how socks go missing in the washing machine. Im still waiting for a reply

They disappear in the dryer. There is a Socktor that hides in there. Then the socks are taken to Socktopia where kittens and puppies that are not born yet play with them.
Or you may have a pack rat. do you have anything else that is missing?

The sock aliens take them. I think Married with Children did a funny episode about that! The aliens needed stinky socks to power their ship or something, LOL!

In my house, one of my dogs pinches them.
She has discovers how to open the washing machine door & helps herself. She never takes anything else, just a sock. She likes it better if she can get to it before it is washed though.
She is a Jack Russell Terrier.

don't know but try always pinning pairs of socks together with the big safety pins, in the foot section and they will be less likely to disappear....worked for me
