They drive in and around my neighborhood with their loud rap music. Why do they do that? Do they have respect for other people?

The ones that do that have no respect. I also have to deal with that in my apartment complex. Not only that they have big "block parties" in the breezeway outside people's doors.

my guess is that they come from a background and country of loud and enthusiastic music. However it seems many young people have gheto blasters inside or outside of their cars and they aren't all black. They probably never give it a thought that their noise irritates other people, or maybe they don't even care. You know what? Church used to be silent and respectful but in the past 20 years too it has gotten loud and disrespectful. I'm thinking it'a a total social problem for everyone here in the USA. Seems like most people have lost respect for other people.

when you are happy and you are enjoying your day playing music loud just makes you happier. It's true it is not only blacks play loud music. Yes there should be consideration when in neighborhoods. I play loud music when ever i'm driving. But it is only like on the freeways. Driving long the music helps you stay awake too.

It isn't only blacks. I live in a small town where there are no blacks, but the teens can't drive without the trunk and top of the car thumping like a heart on drugs. They turn the bass all the way up and thump thump, down the street they go.

To get attention.
It shows others that they have an expensive system in their car.
(The funny thing is that alot of the time they will live in a dump of a shack but they will pour thousands of dollars into their systems and vehicles).
White boys are doing this now too; just not as much or as many.
My son has a decent, somewhat expensive system and he thought that he was gonna try that crap;
Well I told him that he needs to have respect for his neighborhood and must turn it down before entering from the highway.
I explained that I want the neighbors to think good of him and that I wanted to remain proud of him and not to have the neighbors dislike him.
He did understand and no further action was needed.
Besides, he knew that to disobey me meant that I would remove his system and leave him with just the basics of a radio and a speaker.

Probably the same reason as white people and hispanics and virtually any nationality or race you can think of in the US.
They do it for attention.
Obviously they have little if any respect for other people nor themselves...else they would find better mannered means to fetch attention and seek for positive attention.

Its a thing that not only african americans do, you are stereotyping. Many whites do it jsut as much. May I say it is a lack of respect, because not only does it hurt their hearing, it is also against the law, and of course it bothers every one.

I think people who listen it out loud enjoy their car and the road going up and down with the beat.

Haha. Every race does that.

I've never really heard white people do it, but Mexicans are always BLARING SPANISH MUSIC. lol. It's too cool...

They have respect for people, but they also like their music loud. Loud is awesome.

I bet you don't like rap music, do ya?
