I started cosmetology school last week. After standing all day, my feet hurt. I'd like some suggestions of comfy shoes that are all white and good for standing up 8 hours a day. Thanks!!

When I was in school, they had us wear nurses shoes. We had a uniform and ours had to be all white and nurses wear them all day. They worked fine for us.

Wear whatever shoes you find comfortable, but pick up a pair of insoles. Lady Foot Locker sells them for 20 bucks, and hey are GREAT. The problem with any shoe is the lack of cushioning, and insoles can fix that.

Depending on your school's dress code try a nice pair of sneakers. My school's dress code said closed toe black shoes, but we were allowed to wear our sneakers (of any color, some wore pink). If you aren't sure just ask your instructor.

I hope you have a blast at school, I absolutely loved it, it was so much fun, almost like a big pajama party we were always doing eachother's hair & such.

Go to birkenstockcentral.com. They have professional shoes in there, in a variety of colors.

I wore Birks a lot when I taught; I would be on my feet on concrete all day. They not only helped my feet, but they helped my back stay aligned.

The same shoes nurses wear in hospitals...yes, the ugly ones though at my hospital every chick there wore flip flops. Strange, I know...not to mention, not very sanitary or professional.

You can buy the same shoes nurses buy. They are usually all white. Phone a doc's office and ask where they buy them locally.

I'm a Starbucks barista and my company recommends Skechers. You can get fun, funky ones or plain black work appropriate ones depending on your job or dress code. They are so comfy!!
