I tend to agree, but everyone thinks I'm weird for not wearing it. I really don't like that hugely dark mascara/eyeshadow look that is popular now. I don't understand... it makes ladies look like they haven't slept.
All in all, I prefer natural makeup on myself and most others.

I am a 33 yr old woman who does not wear makeup but I think I might start applying a little soon. I am getting older and my skin is still smooth and has few flaws but sometimes I wouldn't mind having a little boost. I wear lip gloss...but that's it. Most days I only wear chapstick. I still get compliments but lately I don't feel as pretty. Makeup is a mask but if done tastefully, it can enhance beauty. Just like the right outfit can compliment a certain body type or a certain haircut can maximize a certain face shape. It will still be me if I wear makeup. I'll just have on some makeup. I used to think that makeup was too artificial and I refused to wear it, but now, I am changing my point of view. It is simply a matter of taste and choice.

Most of the cosmetics out on the market clog pores, so personally I don't use much. I tend for the natural look. If I want to wear a mask, it'll be a mask hiding my thoughts and feelings by schooling my facial expressions.
When I do want to touch up the paint, as it were, I'll use powers and enough blush for any lightening that I might be subjected to, and a touch of lip gloss to more keep my lips soft than for any aesthetic reason.

It's a mask if women wear it as a mask. There is not anything wrong with putting it on naturally to bring out some features.
I wear it, but not to wear it makes me look painted up, but just enough to bring out my natural features. I think a lot of women do not get what the point of wearing makeup is

I am a lifelong feminist and a professional, working mother of three. I just turned 36 years old, and I have lived long enough now to avoid judging others by what they choose to wear or how they choose to adorn themselves. I wear makeup to cover the inevitable dark circles that come from being up late with my babies and many years of late nights studying and training. I also wear makeup on the advice of a dermatologist, who suggested I wear it as a protective layer against the sun (many foundations have SPF in them now) and the New York City grime. I don't think my husband notices whether I wear makeup or not, but I like the way I look with it on...and in a professional environment, I think it is important to appear well-rested and pulled together. Similarly, men shave, comb their hair, and put on after-shave/cologne. Of course, I feel most comfortable without makeup, but I also feel most comfortable wearing nothing but my underwear (bra NOT included) and my husband's old T-shirts. However, I would never think to go to work like that!
Sex object? That really makes me laugh out loud. Anyone who has been married for any length of time, working, and with kids is not putting on makeup to make a sex object of themselves...please. You know, at some point in life, we do grow up, and looking the best you can becomes something other than just trying to appeal to the opposite sex.

I'm sure women wouldn't feel so obliged to wear makeup if the 'ideals' weren't pushed on us in the media so often. It's part of the human condition that we always want to be something we are not. No one will ever be truely happy with what they have as the grass is always greener. If women didn't use makeup, there would be someone else asking the question, "Girls/Women: Would it not be better for you to use makeup?"...

For me wearing makeup is just a way to hide the redness of my acne, but the only make up that i do wear is a little foundation. Like everyone else has been saying it's just a way to bring out our natural beauty.
But if I didn't have the acne that I do I would say that no make up is better.

Thats Sweet. And to some degree i do agree.
however I use it too accent beauty...not as a mask.
I think that a little goes a long way.
I know some people that don't even look the same when they take makeup off and i think that is overdoing it a little bit.

It depends how you use it. Some people put on too much. I only use a little to accent certain things.
So no, in my case, it wouldn't be better if I didn't use makeup.
PS- I've had two boyfriends say (after like a month or so) "IT's cool that you don't need/ wear makeup" and then I was like "Look closer!"
and people I've worked with for months, ona day when I wear a little more than normal, will be like, "oh, your wearing makeup today". I wear make up almost every day. Its fun!

I only wear makeup during the weekend, but during the week I don't use it. When I do wear makeup I don't put a lot on, so it's not like a mask. It just enhances a womans beauty

Men who appreciate true, natural beauty are rare and I found it rude that one would say you are into little girls because you do. I wear make up as well and it's a way to enhance what you already have. I don't think one should use a roller or paint sprayer to apply it so thick but to each her own...
