The clipboard is a place where data is stored temporarily. It is part of the RAM which is used for this pupose.
To view what is on the clipboard, press Winkey + R and type clipbrd if you are using windows 2000 or XP

The clipboard is a virtual storage place. If you highlight text and then select 'Copy' from the edit menu, the computer puts stuff on the clipboard. To get stuff out, move your cursor to where you want to put the text and then select 'Paste' from the edit menu.

Normally, "clip board" is residing on your RAM.
If you open a MS Word, Excel, or a Paint application, do a "paste" (or CTRL+V), whatever on your clip board would be copied on that.

the fastest way is to do as follows:
1) goto start button and click
2) select RUN
3) type "clipbrd"
4) enter and the clicpboard shall open for you.
