Qus 1. What Car is it
Qus 2. How old is it
Qus 3. Can You afford a new one
Qus 4. Why am I wasting my time writing this!
Give us some clues next time!!!
If it's old it could be anyting from a lack of compression to a failed condenser in the ignition. If it's new it is bound to be a black box that only your main dealer will have and cost a small fortune!

try checking the temp sensor this is part of the engine management system and tells the E C U on board computer the engine temp so it can adjust the mixture more fuel when cold and less when hot or it might be the air flow meter this can also be at fault as this tell the ECU how much air to use

It could be a fuel-vaporisation problem.
Mid-1980s petrol-powered Peugeots and the Renault 5 GT turbo suffered from this. You didn't say what your car is.
I'm not sure if there ever was an effective fix, but I'm sure a web-search for owners forums will find something.

Telling us what car it is would be a help...
Most likely is faulty coolant temp sensor.
Most are a 2 min job to fit.

more information please
does the starter motor turn over when warm?
it could be the automatic choke, that is broken, or a blockage in the pipes leading to it
