If I remeber correctly, you dip the mouth piece in boiling water for one Minute. You then put it into the mouth and apply pressure with your fingers against the teeth. Hold it there for about another minute. Obviously, the mouth piece will be hot when taking out of water so shake it off, and be carefull not to burn yourself. If the mouth piece is still to long for the mouth, you can cut off the extra amount with scissors.
As far as how long for a chin strap.......It probably takes a little longer lol.

I don't know about the chin strap, but you suppose to boiled the mouth piece as you stated just long enough where it is flexible. Then you bite into it and let it form to your mouth. At least that was my experience

you boil some water until it comes to a full boil then you put the mouthpiece in it for 30 seconds then put it in cold water for 1 second....no more.....i think the cold water is so that it goes back to its original size because when you put it in hot water it shrinks a bit....then after the one second of cold water you put it in your mouth and bite down on it but not too hard to it goes right through.....then you put it in hot water again for a few seconds....if you need more molding.....then you run the mouthpiece under cold water for a few seconds so it will stay at that shape................lastly you dont need to mold a chin strap....just get the size thats right for you...its just for your chin and the only reason for a chin strap is so that the helmet stay on your head

Get a mouthguard that tells you on the package how to mold it. As for the chin strap...I don't know how to help you.

The best mouthguard is one that is custom-made by ur dentist as it fits u the best, which will help BIG TIME bc then u'd actually be willing 2 wear it since it's not too bulky. It also protects u the best bc it fits ur teeth exactly.
