need compression ring for this connection?

Most all newer A/C systems use a braze joint stubout or a Chatleff type connector with a Teflon o-ring. Carrier used a compression type many years ago but everyone has really turned to brazing instead of mechanical joints because of lower leak probability.

Connections can be made at the evaporator using compression fittings but you can always soldier them, good luck

braze joint are better some types still use o ring
