Bah, you invented that there are two continents so you can call your country simply as America. You are the United States OF America (meaning: belonging to America)

Maybe after this, US people will call their country " The World ". Other country except USA, will be called " Outside of this World ", Britain will called " The Moon ". Israel will be called, ' The Star Wars ".

I'll be willing to bet that the countries of Mexico and Canada would beg to differ with you if you said America is a continent. North America is a continent - America (the United States) is a country on the North American continent.

It depends on what you mean by America....there are two American continents North America and South America. However, sometimes when someone says America they are really just shortening the United States of America, which is a country.

People say America and they mean USA, and USA is a Country containing over 50 states (United States of America) located in North America.

North America and South America are continents. Plain America is not a continent.
