1)
You can make any integer even by multiplying it times 2.
The first integer would be "2n". The next even iteger is '2n + 2" and the third would have to be "2n + 4"
So, 2n + (2n + 2) + (2n + 4) = 132
6n + 6 = 132
6n = 126
n = 21
So, the numbers are: 42, 44 and 46
2)
4(2x - 5) = 4(3x - 4)
8x - 20 = 12x - 16
-4x = 4
x = -1
3)
x is the number of liters of the 20% solution mixed
y is the number of liters of the 50% solution mixed
So, x + y = 600 liters
But, 20% of x is the amount of acid in the first
and 50% of y is the amount of acid in the second.
Add those together and you get an amount of acid in the 30% solution
.20x + .50y = .30(600)
and
x + y = 600
x = 600 - y
.20(600 - y) + .50y = 180
120 - .20y + .50y = 180
.30y = 60
y = 200 liters
x = 400 liters
4)
Doesn't make sense
5)
5x - 2 - 3x - (6x + 4)=3x + 6 - 7x
2x - 2 - 6x - 4 = 6 - 4x
-6 - 4x = 6 - 4x
-12 = 0.... doesnt work
6)
red apples: $2.30 / lb
green apples: $1.90 / lb
Wants 20 lbs at 2.06 / lb
x = # lbs red apples
y = # lbs green apples
x + y = 20
and
(2.30)x + (1.90)y = 2.06(20)
(just like in the acid problem)
x = 20 - y
(2.30)(20 - y) + (1.90)y = 41.2
46 - 2.30y + 1.90y = 41.2
.40y = 4.8
y = 12 lbs green
x = 8 lbs red
7)
3x - (2/3) - 2x + (3/6) = 3x - (2/2) -x
3x - (2/3) - 2x + (1/2) = 3x - (1) -x
x - (1/6) = 2x - 1
x = (5/6)

(1) For the first problem, start out by making the first even integer x, and the next consecutive even integer x+2, and the next consecutive even integer x+4:
x + (x+2) + (x+4) = 132
3x + 6 = 132
3x = 126
x = 42 ; x + 2 = 44 ; x + 4 = 46 ; 42 + 44 + 46 = 132
(2) 8x - 20 = 12x - 16
-4 = 4 x
-1 = x
(3) Make x equal to the number of liters for 20% solution and (600-x) equal to the number of liters for the 50% solution, then set it equal to 600 liters of 30%:
.2x + .5(600-x) = .3(600)
.2x + 300 - .5x = 180
-.3x = -120
x = 400 of 20% ; 600 - x = 200 of 50%
(4) Doesn't work
(5) No solution
(6) Make x equal to the number of pounds for $2.30 per pound and (20 - x) equal to the number of pounds for $1.90 per pound, then set it equal to 20 pounds of $2.06:
2.3x + 1.9(20-x) = 20*2.06
2.3x + 38 - 1.9x = 41.2
.4 x + 38 = 41.2
.4x = 3.2
x = 8 pounds of $2.30 ; 20 - x = 12 pounds of $1.90
(7) 3x - 2/3 - 2 x + 3/6 = 3x -1 - x
x - 2/3 + 1/2 = 2x - 1
5/6 = x

no work needs to be shown. You can do it all in your head!
1) 4, 8, 24
2) x = -1
3) 400 liters of the 20% acid, 200 listers of 50%
4) you wrote the problem wrong
5) x = 2
6) 11 lbs. green, 9lbs red.
7) x = -4/3
by the way, you didn't say anything about getting it correct either... (meaning, some of the answers are correct because i did, it in my head, and the ones I don't feel like calculating, are made-up!)
anyway, if you can't even do stuff on your review sheet, regardless of whether you are in AP or not, then you need to seek a tutor or the like. The thing is, the albegra problems are very easy to do because you have the same variables over and over again. the word problems you need to make it into an algebraic equation and do it from there. and the first question is yet another algebraic equation. Can't you ask your parents or can they not help you either?

1. 132/3 = 44 Take the even integer before 44 and the one after. It will give you a sum of 132. So the even integers are 42, 44, 46.
2. (2x-5) = (3x-4) (divide each side by 4)
-1 = 1x (place all the x on one side)
x= -1

devide by 132 by 3 = 44, so the integers are 43, 44, 45
solve for x: 4(2x-5)=4(3x-4)
8x-20=12x-16
-4=4x
x=-1
solve for the amount of water in the solution
0.8x+0.5(600-x)=0.7*600
or for the amount of acid in it:
0.2x+0.5(600-x)=0.3*600
Oh, well, these are really simple... you should learn to do them yourself!

2.4(2x-5)=4(3x-4)
8x-20=12x-16
-20=(12x-8x)-16
-20=4x-16
-20- -(+)16=4x
-4=4x

3.mix 200 liters of 50% solution w/400 liters of water. don't use any of the 20% solution
4.7x-4(2-3x)=3x-6=8x
7x-8- -(+)12x=3x-6=8x
19x-8=3x-6=8x

14x=-6+8
14x=2
x=2 divided by 14
x= 1/7
5.5x-2-3x-(6x+4)=3x +6-7x
(5x-3x)-2(6x+4)=3x+6-7x
2x-2(6x+4)=3x+6-7x
2x-12x+-8=3x+6-7x
-10x-8=3x+6-7x
-10x-8=(3x-7x)+6
-10x-8=-4x+6
(-4x- - (+)10x)-8=6
6x-8=6
6x=6+8
6x=14
x=14 divided by 6

6.8 pounds of red apples and 12 pounds of green apples. i guessed
7.3x-2/3-2x+1/2=3x-1-x
(3x-2x)-2/3+1/2=3x-1-x
1x-2/3+1/2=3x-1-x
1x(-2/3+1/2)=3x-1-x
1x-1/6=3x-1-x
1x-1/6=(3x-x) -1
1x-1/6=2x-1
-1/6=(2x-1x)-1
-1/6=1x-1
1x-1=-1/6
1x(x)=-1+-1/6
x=-1 and 1/6
i was working on this for 55 minutes!
