whats the deal with the song, i have no idea what they r singing about, plz someone explain?

It is about the birth of his first child and there were some problems or something and when he got there, the child just had loads of wires attached to it, the corridors etc are in the hospital and the everything else just generally describes what he saw when he entered the room.

i believe it is about his son who died just after he was born and seeing all the tubes for breathing apparatus that is where he got the lyrics wires coming out of your skin

I don't really know what it means, but I would guess that it is about someone that the auther loves ( a child possibly?) who has been injured and is in the hospital and on life support.
