We're going in a little different direction today. I want this to be tough but not impossible. When I get back in a couple hours I will add details if necessary.

Lyrics Clue: "and walk this land."
Timeframe: Late 60's, Early 70's.

1. Name the Artist
2. Name the Song
3. Name the SPECIFIC genre. Not just general. I personally haven't heard anyone refer to it for quite a while.
4. There were at least two things really unique about this song, that really set it apart from everything else up to that time. Name one.
5. What was the most memorable instrument and why?

Have fun! Thanks for playing.

As I said, my goal was to make this tough but not impossible. Using the full sentence of the lyrics I think would have been a dead giveaway. This one is tough to judge for best answer. Veitedl scored 8 of 10 on my scoresheet. Both Veitedl and smokeater raised a valid point that it was the bass of the song that your remember most in your head although it was the drum solo that I was thinking of. So I gave points to both of you for that. Smokeater however cinched it when he noted the length of the song. As I recall, an entire side of the LP. Thanks for your emails and thanks for playing.

I'm gonna go with the same route veitedl took...

1. Iron Butterfly
2. In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida
3. Acid Rock
4. One would be, the sheer length of the song, something like 16 or 17 minutes. Public demand for this song was enormous, and disc-jockeys were MORE then willing to play it, in it's entirety, as often as they could....since they could do whatever the hell they wanted while it was playing.
5. Now THIS is the tuff one...since the guitar, bass, organ, and drums all played significant parts in the song. I'm gonna go with the bass, since it pretty much runs the entire length of the song.

btw...the line in the song was "Oh, won't you come with me, And walk this land"

Andy Williams
The Exodus Song this Land Is Mine
Standards ? Religious? Ballads? Nostalgia?
dunno...i give up

more hints?

--edit--
Hmmm, yeah i guess pat boone/andy williams is not exactly classic rock. I'm gonna have to go with the answer below. The most memorable instrument is the drums because of the solo. And its unique because its really long.

i have two guess. Diamond Head "Borrowed Time", or The Hooters "Brother dont you walk away", or Iron Butterfly "in a gadda da vidda". my bet is on iron butterfly, just due the genre you have listed the question under. But it was also by Chruch Of Misery. but my official answer will be iron butterfly, in a gadda da vidda. two things that set it apart...one was the drumming quality, and bass, plus guitar and keyboard overlay. another interesting fact, it was originally written as "in the garden of eden". its genre is more opinion. some would refer to it as "psychadelic rock" and others would even call it heavy metal. the most memorable instrument in this song, to me is also based on opinion, and is the bass. the drums are essential, but the bass lines drag you in.

The whole line in the song is Oh, won't you come with me, And walk this land

1**Iron Butterfly
2** In Gada Da Vida
3**Pyscadelic or Acid (rock,metal)
4** It was 17 minutes long and The musical orchastration was awesome with all the different sounds overlayed in it!
5** The Bass was very heavly used!!!!!

Fun fact the origianal lyrics were supposed to be in the garden of eden by the lead singer was drunk or drugged out and slurred the words when he tried to sing them and they came out in gada da vida!!!!!!
