I recently graduated high school. I've been starting to make new friends in college. I still talk to my friends who are still in high school. Since I'm in community college I still see my friends regularly. When I don't see them I talk to them on instant messenger.
Anyways, these certain friends I'm talking about are moody and bruty goths. So every thing that comes out of their mouth is pessimistic. Even though I myself am not goth, we have alot in common and we all have bad home lives. Even though their pessimistic they have never bean mean to me. My problem is that every time I'm around them or talk to them I usually get depressed from hearing their sad stories. I would rather for them 2 be honest with me on how they are. But when ever I have a problem they just say "sorry" and thats it. They don't take my emotions as important as I do theirs. I know that they really do care, but they probably just don't know what to say. It still hurts though I help them more then they help me.

Your moody goth friends are downers for your spirit & to continuously expose yourself to their pessimism will slow you down in your pursuit of an optimistic, serene life. It is understandable that every person has their demons to deal with. Some people come from bad homes, some people have no faith, some people use drugs, some people have poor self-esteem, some people feel unloved, some people have made poor decisions in their past that now hinder them in life...IT HAPPENS! You are growing up and entering a new era in life. The friends that you had in high school may not be the friends that you have 5 or 10 years from now. That's how life goes. As human beings, we grow older & wiser...we evolve. Your friendship with your old buddies sounds one-sided. They can dump all their baggage on you but then you have the weight of their burdens as well as your own to bear. Life is too precious and short to sell yourself short. It would be wise to expose yourself to more positive people and distance yourself from negative thinkers. You can still be cordial to them but as long as they can only see the woes of the world, they won't be able to see the wonderful things that can and will happen. Don't let them blind you to goodness as well. Good luck!

I hate to tell you what you don't want to hear. It might be best if you stop talking to these friends. But you may never know who may listen to you, if they give you a chance.
They don't know how to overcome their problems like you do. Their envious and jealous maybe you can help them out, if they'll listen. It's hard trying to talk to people who don't want help.
(I just want to say good luck in whatever you choose.)

Its great to have a "variety" of friends and maybe you being a friend of some "goths" might help them more than you know!!!

Find a Pisces friend. We have tons of compassion. If youre coming down too much after these encounters it might not be worth it to see them...

well, if they don't care about your feelings as much as you care about theirs, then by all means you shouldn't be friends with them, they're not worth your time, you should just slowly pull yourself away from them, and find friends who cares about you as much as you care about them.
