3x = A + 26.
x = (A + 26)/3.

In this case the parentheses are unnecessary, as 28+(3x-2) = (28+3x)-2. So your problem becomes:

28+3x-2+A=6x

To solve this move all x terms to the left, all non-x terms, such as -2 and A, to the right, and combine like terms. Then divide both sides by the coefficient of x. The result will say x = the answer, which will be an expression in A.

First get rid of the parenthesis because everything in this problem is addition or subtraction so it makes no difference which you do first. Then you get all the X factors on one side of the equal sign and everything else on the other.
RULE: Whatever you do on one side of the equal sign, you MUST do on the other side to keep it equal.
You should start by subtracting 3x from both sides. That gives you all the X factors on one side 28 -2 + A = 6x - 3x or simplifying, 26 + A = 3x. To get x alone you have to divide both sides by 3 giving 26/3 + A/3 = x.
It is very important that you learn how to do this on your own if you expect to be able to do any higher math.

28 + (3x - 2) + A = 6x

28 + 3x - 2 + A = 6x

removing Parenthesis

26 + 3x + A = 6x

collecting like terms

28 + 3x + A = 6x

- 3x -3x

subtracting - 3x from both sides

28 + A = 3x

28 + A/3 = 3x/3

Dividing 3 from both sides

28 + A/3 = x

The answer is 28 + A/3 = x

26+A=3x
3x=26+A
x=26+A/3
''A''can be any number
