My brother in law has a testicular problem. He gets severe pain that comes on slowly over a period of hours(he can tell when it is coming)...lasts SEVERAL hours, makes him very ill and causes vomitting, then after the vomitting, the testicular pain subsides and he is fine. This happens about once every 2-3 months, for the last several years. He has been hospitalized for it, and LOTS of tests have been done, but NO DIAGNOSIS. (tests ranging from testicular ultrasounds to Gallbladder scans) ANYONE ever hear of anything similar or know anyone else with this problem?

This is not caused by anything "specific" that we know of...

I had this once before... and it turned out to be related to an inflammed appendix. I was told the appendix could become inflammed repeatedly, but not to the point of surgery. I'm assuming the doctors have tested his white blood cell count during these episodes... that could be a good telling of appendicitis.

Best of luck

I am sure that Kidney stones have been ruled out. However there is a type of seizure, called visceral epilepsy that might be the explanation. It is rare; and would require the use of a neurologist. Also, I am sure that acute prostatitis, and other genital conditions have been looked at by a Urologist.
