It's called upbringing. Most parents nowadays just don't care. All they want is the kids out of the house no matter what they are doing. The problem is they only want to get involved with them when it's too late and they are in trouble.

your right, teenagers should listen more and talk less. It's the only way to learn. i was a rude punk as a teen but guess what, i grew out of it. and so will they. there is plenty of evidence on the streets these days in the form of homeless teenage runaways sleeping in alleys or parks. It makes me wonder about the baby boomer generation and what went wrong. i to have said if i had children things would be different i would do this, that and the other thing to make it right. However, i have realized it would be useless and didn't bother with kids. i went gay instead so i don't have that burden on me. i have plenty of cousins who grew up married and had kids, some are still married some are not and one or two are gay. big deal

The teenagers who are rude (and not all are rude, btw) are that way because they haven't been taught manners or how people should be treated. Even so, the rudest teenager in the world is NOT worthless! Everyone is precious and capable of doing both good and bad things.

Socrates agreed! He thought teenagers only were getting worse and worse. I think you need to look at our society and our culture to find your answer. In many cultures, e.g. Japan, China and Mexico, teenagers are less rude and less against the society. Actually the causes of this are created by THE ADULTS who have passed on the culture to teenagers. So you yourself are to blame, among others...

Not all teenagers are rude any more than all adults are rude. It is when people generalise and try to put teenagers into a category that attitudes, such as yours, are allowed to prevail.

I am a young teenager and my mom is raising me right. But, kids in my classes are so disrespectful to teachers. I am ashammed, of them. And alot of people talk about me because I talk proper. I don't know how these people are going to make it, because nobody hires disrespectful people.

Try to think back when you were teenager and how bad stuff seem to "suck". School was a sham, other kids were annoying, and everything was SOOO dramatic. Those times weren't always fun.
But if you can't feel sorry, just smack the shi* out of them. That will work.

You were once, or probably still are, a teenager. Maybe you should set the example....
Have a nice TRIP!
Oh, and for your information, my son is NOT rude! He's actually really polite and conciderate.
You should try it sometime, dear.

I agree. And for the parents who say theirs aren't rude, they should try to listen to their children(teen-agers) when they aren't aware they are being watched by there parents.
