First do you have both computers set up on the same network, If not run the win xp network set up wizard. You can find it under Programs>Accessories>Communication.

Once both computers are on the same network go to each computer and go Start>Settings>Printers and faxes and right click on the printer you wish to share. Select Sharing and set it to share and give it a name or use whatever windows gives you. Once this is done then go to the other computer and go back to the printer folder and go to add printer, and select network printer and "browse" for it. It's pretty straight forward. Just remember the computer that the shared printer is attached to needs to be on in order for this to work. If you want to spend extra money you can purchase a print server but I prefer the simple cheaper option.

A lot depends on the printer and the network, if any. Go to Smartcomputing.com and search "printer sharing." The advice is free. If it is just a no-network sharing, you can use a switchbox if the computers are close together. You can start a local network if you are hooked by ethernet or wi-fi. It is hard to go through the steps if you don't know the equipment involved, but I just checked with Smarcomputing and they had good advice. Don't forget Windows Help (F1 Key). It offers tips, too. I am not sure what the server has to do with it, unless you mean a printer server. Get your printer manual out. Usually this stuff is kind of simple after a little research. Unfortunately, sometimes it isn't. Good luck.

go to control panel, printers and faxes, then click sharing, and enable it for both printer, then from the second computer go to my network places, then click show workgroup computers(assuming that you have a network installed) then select the computer that the printer is connected to, and right click over it, then select install, do same for next printer
