A lot of times businesses want your number that have no right to it and if you dont give it to them they won't do business with you. If you doubt me try it and see how much you can get done without giving them your SS# it's kind of fun but not very time profitable.

The law says that the SS# is not supposed to be used for any other purpose. This wasn't enforced for a long, long time, so everyone from hospitals to colleges were using it. Now, identity theft is such a bit problem that people don't want to give out their #. If the business says they have to have it, tell them that the feds say you don't have to provide it. If they still insist on having it, ask them for directions to their nearest competitor. If they want your business, they'll find a way to work without it.

If you watch only one conspiracy documentary ever, make it this one. This just might be the best introductory video out there. Understand that every claim made in this is fact, not opinion, no matter how wild it sounds. It's all easily verifiable through mainstream news archives and public documents.

Does not matter what anybody say, no matter how logical it is. Only you protect yourself. SS may tell you what you should do to protect yourself only, but will not safeguard it. You are on your own, do not depend on anyone or government.

I have never had a business ask for my SS#, they use to ask for it when you wrote a check, but not anymore.

A lot of b.s. Especially since a person can't just get a new # when their old one has been stolen, and used in credit card fraud.
