Heel pain can be caused by a variety of things, from old injuries causing osteoarthritis to heel spurs. Most, if not all of the conditions that cause common heel pain are treatable, either fully or at least such that the pain can be ameliorated to a large degree.
You should make an appointment with a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine, a podiatrist as soon as possible. At minimum he will have to take x-rays. A Podiatrist with a sub-speciality in orthopedics would probably be best.

Dear, hurt heels
How long has this been happening and what did you do to hurt these heels. I know after work my heels hurt like hell, but I always give them a break and massage them well with lotions. I never had a problem with my heels before, but walking all day on heels has taken a toll on my feet. I thought I needed to see a doctor too, but it went away after a go to the salon with a massage. Try that first and if it persist than consult a physician.

Also another method that might help is what I'm trained to do which is a foot massage using heated massage oil try massaging your feet with an aromatherapy or homoeopathic oil do this from the balls of your feet right down the heel do it in semi circular movements really applying Good pressure on to the offending area try some foot exercises as well .
You Can also try soaking your feet In a nice warm water with a recommend foot soak that might as a beautician i specialise in lots of treatments for feet and can rec commend you and prescribe you several products.

Never heard of that before. Definately see a GP.
Try wearing some different shoes for a couple of days.
Do you spend a lot of time standing up? - if so maybe you should insist on a couple of breaks so you can sit down.
I know Gout usually affects the big toe first in men, but never heard of it affecting the heal. Is the pain perhaps in your ankle joint but your nerves are mis-locating it?
Have you been walking bear-foot on any strange foreign beaches recently - I know they have weird creatures in the sand in some countries!

Heel Spur as others have suggested sounds most likely, just Google it & you'll find loads of information.

If you are getting a pain when you stand, it could be a number of things.
You may have a spur on the heel bone - extra bone material. This requires surgery to remove.
You may have faciitis of the heel tissue. The tissue of the heel goes hard. Cortisone injections help - I've had this.
You may have arthirits in the joint where the cartilege has worn. A steriod and cortisone injection may help relieve the pain - I've had this too.

It sounds like you have a foot problem. If you have hard skin on the bottom of your feet you can get rid of it by using a puma stone or by using Arbonne's foot creme. Visit my website at charlenebolinger.myarbonne.com
