Yes! it was fantastic!
It was in Denmark a long long time ago. I was on a camping holiday with some friends and it looked like rain, so we asked a farmer if we could use his barn for the night. The straw 'bed' was about two feet thick, after so many nights lying on ground which seemed to get harder and stonier with every passing night, it was fantastically comfortable. It took us a while to get to sleep with the pigs squealing away!
The next morning the farmer and his wife invited us into their home for a breakfast of ham and eggs. Their hospitality was just amazing.
They didn't speak any English, my friends were French. They spoke to the farmer and his wife in German, and they understood the Danish answers.
Thanks for the question.

Yes, and I sneezed the night through because of the straw. Did I share it with anybody? Yes, my companions were sheep.

This was on the Isle of White many years ago when my scooter broke down at night and it was raining cats and dogs, so I took shelter in the barn. I did not have the company of a barn owl that night but I do now in the woods opposite my house... spooky but amazing to hear.

If you are talking about a holiday in France where the accommodation is in a barn, then it comes highly recommended.

Enjoy!

yes, I shared it with the animals that were there.

it isn't as much as where, but when....

When I was 14 - I was cruelly raped by two boys, after they were done with me they left me in that barn, until the next day I don't remember coz I was in an ambulance - apparently the property owner found me and called the police and ambulance.

Be careful of boys, especially when they use their sweet talking tricks to get what they want. It isn't always fun if someone has to suffer.

yes i have, an yes with an owl we had rescued from barbed wire, my dad an i stayed up nearly all night an the cheeky blooming owl got her chicks put them between me an my dad whilst we were sleeping and flew off too feed, most exhilarating night of my life of my childhood babysitting for a barn owl xx oh the reason i was accustomed to the owl, bored chit-less whilst my dad refitted barn and i wouldn't let him go near owl, and i watched its movements for days an that's how i found it stuck in barbed wire, trying to get back into its chicks, my dads fault as he was sealing the building xx

Yes... alone... and in a field under bushes... alone... and in a prison cell... alone... all because I was a battered kid who ran away from home... and no I didn't break the law.

And as an adult, in my late fifties... I slept in my car for twelve days, because of a divorce and loss of everything!
