I work in Lake Forest, IL.
Jim Lovell has a restaurant there and I have heard him speak about this.
He says they were there, he seems like an honest man, I saw moon rocks at the museum...
I have no reason for WANTING to dispute the moon walk.

Nasa do quite a good job of debunking the Moon landing hoax. As I wasn't there myself I can't prove 100% one way or the other but this'll probably do.

Re. the waving flag. I'm old enough to remember the Apollo 11 mission and can remember the flag being argued about in a different context. After it was revealed how much they were spending on a flag that would wave for the cameras (using a precision engineered spring mechanism) there was an outcray about the mission being a waste of money and a propoganda exercise. This was BEFORE they'd even landed so it's no hoax.

Also, if they were so keen on perpetrating a hoax then why go back and perpetrate it a furhter 7 times until (bar Apollo 13) everyone was completely bored with Moon landings?

Although my wife's father performed fuel calculations for the original Apollo landing, I'll spare you that speech. Instead, I will encourage you to watch two programs. The first show is called Conspiracy Moon Landing that it currently showing on the National Geographic Channel and it pretty much obliterates all of the popular conspiracy theories.

I would also encourage you to watch a movie called Capricorn One. Made it 1978, it is a fictional story about a fake mission to Mars. Although it is a science fiction story, it is a good example of how utterly impossible it would be to fake a moon landing for any length of time.

12 men walked on the moon from 1969 to 1972 and we have neither the resources nor the technology to pull off that big of a hoax for so long. Hundreds of thousands of people have worked on the space program. It would be far easier to put someone on the moon than to try and fake it and keep it secret for nearly 40 years.

The landings came at a time when our space program was ultra competitive with the former Soviet Union. Remember how big of a deal it was when Sputnik was put into orbit? They had the technology to monitor our moon shots and transmissions. Don't you think they would have called us out if they had evidence that it was all fake?

Perhaps the most definitive proof of our trip to the moon is what we left behind. For the last 35+ years, scientists have been beaming lasers to the moon and measuring the return times. How are they doing this? The beams are reflected back by equipment left on the moon on at 3 different locations.

Case closed.

Since the vast majority of people believe it happened, the burden of proof in this question lies with those who claim it didn't. Granted, the U.S. government has lied about a lot of things, but usually there is some political motivation behind the lies. I can't find any motivation for lying about landing on the moon. Nor can I find any other reason to suspect a hoax. The technology required to reach the moon existed back then, and the funding for it was provided. Why would anyone disbelieve?

More than that: There are picture, films, moon rocks in museums. And there are mirrors left that you shine with a laser and get the signal back.
And if you do not believe in space exploration, how can you explain satellite communications, satellite pictures and more?

Why do you question it? Does it truly affect you whether or not someone landed on the moon? No, so let it go, let people belive what they want, and go about your life.
