No, Just like heterosexual women don't hate women. Duh. Be more open please.
My lesbian friend has a man for a best friend. They aren't lesbians becuase they hate men. They are sexually attracted to women. And not all women, they have their preferences just like heterosexuals do.

Why would a lesbian hate a man?
You have men who just straight up hate women. But, aren't flaming homosexuals. They abuse these women and treat them like animals.
I could understand if a woman hated a man in that scenario.
But, why does it have to be a lesbian who hates men?
Oh, of course.
It has nothing to do with OUR sexual orientation as much as it does as you having failed your duty.
Am I right? Uh-huh. Hang your head. Couldn't get your pecker up this week? Ahh.. maybe next week.
Surely such a simple answer as having an inclination towards the same sex would suffice.
No. No.
The Lesbians hate men. Poor poor men.
You know I have always admired men. And, hell, some I've even considered beautiful. This doesn't mean a damn. I don't get aroused by the male gender.
I never have... I never will.
I was born a lesbian. Not a man hating lesbian.
I do hate ignorance.

As a lesbian in her late 30s, I'm really glad to see the responses to this question are serving to debunk an out-dated stereotype about lesbian women. Clearly, perceptions are changing for the better, and that is good news for everyone.
I see only one lesbian who says she hates men, and that is Andrea. Andrea, I see from your profile that you are 19. So I have to assume you are mostly dealing with young men around your age, and yea... guys that age are programmed by nature to be thinking about sex non-stop. I'm not taking their side, but I ask that you try to be a little patient with men, and not give up on them. I think you'll find, as I did, that men turn into pretty great people once their hormones are under control.
To the young lesbians like Andrea, again, I say... be patient, and be open. Writing off a whole category of people can cost you some wonderful experiences and friendships.
I admit, when I came out at 21, I wasn't too crazy (hate is too strong of a word) about men, but I was at college, and surrounded by college guys. As I got older, and moved into the business world, and met new people, I found myself re-evaluating the value and role of men in my life.
Today, my best friend (outside of my partner, of course!) is a straight man. We are very close... I even stood up in his wedding. I have several other close straight and gay male friends, too.
Guys are just like any other category of people. Some of them suck, but most of them are decent. I'm glad that so many of the people answering this question feel the same way!

I'm the friend that Mat was talking about so I can answer a few things. I do not hate all me. I hate men who think that they are God and can treat people like dirt. Now, I have found that a majority of the male population is like that but I also have male friends who are not.
I know some of my straight female friends have the same opinion so don't be so quick to judge that it's just the lesbians.

No, you'd sooner find a skewed feminist (and I mean the really angry kind) than lesbian that hates men. And as a non-skewed feminist and gay rights supporter, I think you should try being friends with a lesbian. And a feminist. And see which is more accepting of men. Good luck in your search for answers.

Do you hate men?? Lesbians prefer women in a relationship, much like you would. Just because you don't prefer a man in a relationship doesn't mean you hate men does it??? (Assuming you're a straight man of course).

All lesbians I know are very nice folks, sincere, feet on the ground, and well centered. I have a lot of lesbian friends, I know of very few men (gays) who dislike lesbians. .... Very few. And I have only met mayby two old timers in the Lesbian circles who dislike men in general, but like those men they get to know...there is prejudice everywhere, there is no reason to think you won't find it in Lesbian circles also...not enough to be bothered about any more. Good luck

No no... just don't want to spend my life with one. The only men I can generally say I don't like are men who want to make me straight
