Here is the step by step, just to get to the water pump. From alldatapro.com
Disconnect battery ground cable, then isolate cable end with electrical tape.
Drain cooling system.
Remove power steering pump belt shield, then loosen adjusting bolt.
Loosen lock bolt and power steering pump through bolt, then remove power steering belt.
Loosen alternator adjusting bolt, then loosen alternator upper mounting bolt and remove alternator belt.
Remove cylinder head cover.
Raise and support vehicle.
Using water pump pulley tool T92C-6312-AH or equivalent, remove water pump pulley.
Remove splash shields, then the timing belt.
Remove five water pump attaching bolts, then the water pump.
Reverse procedure to install. Tighten water pump to 14-19 ft lb. Tighten water pump pulley to 6-7 ft lb.
Also states you have to remove the timing belt to get the waterpump off. So, I assume you have to remove the timing belt as well to get to it. Good luck.

Behind the timing belt.
This is not particularly easy or simple.
The timing belt has to come off, and if this is not something you have experience with, have a shop do it. If you don't put the belt on correctly, you can cause damage to the engine, and quite possibly cause it to fail to run.
If, on the other hand you are reasonably adept with mechanical procedures, you can either buy a manual for < $20.00 which will have all the information you need, or you can go to the library in the REFERENCE section and gather the information there.
While you are there, ask if they have either ALLDATA or Mitchell On-Demand on one of their computers. These are very good sources of information. It is professional level stuff.
Alternatively you can also get tat same information from online subscriptions.
Try one of these--->

My answer does not directly answer your question, but what I do with any car I own, I get a repair manual from Chilton or Haynes. If I can't get one fast enough, I check my local library. Sometimes they have just the right manual and will let you copy a few pages.
If you are having a temperature issue, buy a new thermastat first and test.
Good Luck,

Ok, I don't know that one, but will your '93 parts fit on my '89? My fuel pump leaks and since it's a turbo I can't find parts.
