They were great singers! Excellant performances. Wish there were more great singers like them today. But nowadays its all rap and junk.

I remember the Carpenters. Karen had a beautiful voice. Simplier times I guess.

I do. They made really good music, Karen Carpenter was a great singer and Richard is a great songwriter, arranger and producer.
They left an empty place in music, I would like some others will follow them, it´s not easy, almost anybody can "rap", but they sang.

I don't personally remember them, but I love their music. Karen Carpenter was a truly talented musician. I wish she would still be alive today to show the "singers" of today what real music sounds like!

Of course I remember The Carpenters, Sarge! My favorite song was probably Close to You. I have a music box in the shape of a piano that plays that tune. Everyone comments on Karen, it was Richard's wonderful piano that makes me still hurt for them. Music has changed a lot, but there is still some good stuff going on out there. Nellie Fritato, Dido, Evanescense...Every generation is going to try to have something that their parents will hate. We had AC/DC, Metallica, and Tiny Tim!!!!! LOLOL Good to know there is someone out there that still remembers the good old days. Nana

They made unfortunate choices in some of the songs they sang, but I felt Karen Carpenter was highly underrated as a singer. I loved her voice.

Were not all listening to Girls Aloud and feckin Chico. Some of us actually saw the Carpenters Live. Its a shame she had serious issues and died so young. She had the voice of an angel

Of course -- I still listen to them on CD (Have their music on old albums and tapes)...Karen had a lovely voice. Richard is a very talented man who, last I heard, still writes/produces music. Not very many 'singers' today have the quality that these two had...still miss Karen...a tragic and senseless loss. ("Rainy days and Mondays always get me down...")

I remember them well. Karen Carpenter had the voice of an angel. We lost her much too soon.
