Benzoyl Peroxide is one of the leading forms of acne meds. Although, acne comes out on different people for different reasons. Acne can be caused by stress, anxiety, lack of sleep, bad diet ( not often ) and not washing your face. Clean and Clear so far has been the best acne prevention line out there. Proactive seems to work good as long as you stay on the product and don't stop using it. Clean and clear is inexpensive and worth trying. Try using the facial scrub, astringent, mask once a week and persigel 10% for night time. A 2.5 may be very drying and irritating.
Good luck!

Benzoyl peroxide 2.5% may dry out your face, depending on the skin condition you have. If it is really oily- well, embrace it then. However, if your face is already dry, you might want to just dab blob of the cream on your pimples/ acne directly.
As for aspirin masks, the reason why they are said to work, is because they contain salycilic acid, evident when they are broken down by your intestines when ingested, to reduce the pain for when you might have a headache, fever, etc. However, 98% of the acid shall not be transmitted to your face when used, because other acids in the stomach must work to break it down.
If you have really oild skin. AND I MEAN REALLY OLILLY SKIN, then try toothpaste, the paste kind. IT will dry out your face, however, but it work. Don't use if your are sensitive.
Salicylic acid is quite good, but benzoyl peroxide zapped many pimples of mine away.

You can get this benzoyl peroxide formula but in aqua solution which is a bit kinder to the skin. If your acne is really bad go to the doctor who will give you anti-biotics. If you have just the odd breakout I recommend Witch Hazel products. Especially Witch Stick. Also Freederm isn't too bad either but expensive and behind the counter. Witch Hazel is available in all shops not behind the counter.

Benzoyl peroxide (BP) is an effective anti-acne remedy, at 2.5% or 5%. But the key difference in managing unpleasant side effects that responders have raised is to make sure that you use BP in a lotion or cream base that is water-based, and that does NOT contain alcohol or acetone. It is alcohol and acetone that is mainly responsible for the dry skin effect. BP is best applied nightly and promptly removed in the morning.

Benzoyl Peroxide is harsh on the skin and causes it to become irritated, and you may break out more. Try something with a less irritating ingredient, like Salicylic Acid.

I think I've used the Benzoyl Peroxide 10%(I guess my acne is worse than yours) and it worked alright. But I'd recommend Zoderm although it's a bit pricer, around 85 bucks but it's totally worth it.

every body's skin is different so you may want to try and see if it works. read the label carefully before using and try it on a small area of your skin so if you have any bad reaction it doesn't damage your skin there are so many products you will probably try many and find one eventually acne is caused by so many things some of which a cream cannot solve! good luck !

its kind of harsh, if you dont believe me, look it up, this is the same stuff they use as a hardener for bondo (car repair filler), and other polyester adhesives, i used the red bondo cream hardener (benzoyl peroxide) and it burned my face off, now i roam the sewers

ive been using it for about a year but stopped. my acne's cleared up significantly but it has left my skin dry and irritated. once you stop using the cream the acne comes back so it must be used consistantly in order for results just like proactiv.
i would suggest trying something thats more gentle on the skin.
