The simplest way to go around is got to start - run type msconfig and in that startup and uncheck the ones you don't want to run on during startup.
Other options are you could run antivirus or spyware/adware scanner to c whether is that a problem that causing the system to slow down.
Some problem could be due to problems in the registry and windows You could system mechanic to rectify them.
Or Norton windoctor and Registry Mechanic.

On the desktop click START , RUN , & type "msconfig"
Now a window will be opened
Select the startup tag & uncheck all the commands you hate at your startup & click Apply & OK.
restart the PC & be welcomed to a whole new world....
If u use MS WINDOWS XP. , you can hibernate every time you think of turning off the PC , it wrks just as well...
when u turn ur comp on again u will recieve it back at the same state you left it...

After it finally boots up go to Start-All Programs (That's at the very bottom) and then you will see the start up folder about 3/4 up the page. One at a time, pick what you don't want to be there and choose delete. That's all there is too it.

I used a tool called CleanMyPC Registry Cleaner and it has a startup manager inside it. The startup manager let me view detailed information for each startup program, and enable, disable, or delete the startup program.

yes click the start button then go to run then type in "msconfig" then click on startup and un check things you dont want loaded, you will have to reboot after your done.

First make sure you do a scan to check whether or not your computer has a virus.
The folder you are looking for should be somewhere in Control Panel.

Download and Run - EasyCleaner
If you run the option: Startup
It will show yellow and red options...delete them.
Then click Ok
It will help your computer go faster
