cover your broom with a rag, or use a dustmop and spray with furniture polish. it will then collect them nicely and they won't fly away.

Dust with a Bounce fabric softener sheet, the anti static elements in it prevents dust from settling as quickly. I have 4 cats and a dog and I have to say it does work pretty good.

Old pantyhose work GREAT and build up lots of the static cling that you need! Just wrap them around your broom or mop and throw them away! Old socks work good too plus they can be washeded and reused!

You can put on a pair of old socks and use your feet to clean the baseboards and under some items.
