Democrats are hypocrites. They will kill their own unborn child because it was a mistake. They will not take responsibility for anything.

Some do, some don't, just as some Republicans support it. You make an assumption that you can't back up. Abortion will always be a subject that divides all kinds of people, no matter what their politics or religion.
If only women got to cast secret votes allowing abortion on demand, it would pass in a New Yew York minute. My body, my decision.

Most don't. They just think it should be a personal decision, not one imposed by the government as a matter of law.

The thing about the abortion debate is that the two sides are arguing entirely unrelated issues. Pro-life people say "abortion is bad". Pro-choice advocates say "The government should be making personal decisions that like". It's not about abortion. It's about who gets to make the decisions.

The question distills down to this: someone is going to choose. It's either going to be the individual, or it's going to be the majority (through enacted laws). If the majority gets to choose, then they are effectively imposing their belief system -- which is almost always religiously-based -- on everyone.

The concept of reproductive freedoms is not whether you agree with the individual choices being made. It's whether you think the government should have the right to take away and mandate those choices.

Why can't people understand that freedom of choice is not a minority value, even if the majority happens to disagree with the minority's choice?

The majority of the American people, both democrats and republicans, support the right of the mother to ultimately choose if she will have a baby. If republicans really want to reduce the number of abortions they should do what they criticize the Democrats for doing. They should promote sex education in schools. Abstinence only sex education might, underscore might, reduce the number of teens having sex but if the rest are not getting information on birth control then the result is baby's having baby's.

This is a womens issue and should be treated as a womens issue and therefore it is more of a liberal issue. Democrats/liberals are closer to the truth of how to balance power and choice for women. Abortion is the issue that will forever leave a bad taste in everyones mouth. its the unfortunate reality of our human condition. babies who are unwanted get conceived. that also has a lot to do with an imbalance in the power here. once deeper social issues are addressed, abortion will no longer be such a forefront issue, because less unwanted babies will be concieved.

Why are these forums full of people out to spread misinformation?
So you don't like the democrats, don't vote for them, but to post a stupid comment like that makes you look stupid not the democratic party.
Why is there such a trend to anti-intellectuallism in America at the present time? It's as though Larry the cable guy became president. Wait a minute, maybe he did
