why are they played back in our dreams distorted and not in the order that they actually occured?

Actually I think dreams are subconscieous manifestations of our fears and desires as opposed to recordings of ones lifetime experiences. Of course I'm not a psychiatrist.

Why limit yourself to thinking that they happend in this life time and couldnt have happen in a prior life but are being brought into this one during dream time to make you aware of something you need to remember or a lesson you havent learned yet? They may only seem distorted and out of order to you because you havent been able to remember or recognize where and or when you have been there done that before. Alot of dreams are prophetic as well and are apart of the future.

From a psychological standpoint, dreams are a combination of things. Dreams may be a "review" of what you did during the day. Dreams can also be a manifestation of what we where thinking about before you fell asleep. Dreams can also be a problem solving time.

not all dreams are recording of life time experience some may be, but dreams are mostly fantacy and what the mind is dwelling just before sleep or if something has made an impression knowingly and unknowingly,dreams are your subconscious mind so keep thinking well and you will dream well

hmm silly girl your mind takes events from the previous days and mixes them together and plays them with a lifetime of info and shakes it up and pukes it out and then plays it as a movie while reflecting your current state of mind
