I was going to say a humming bird, because of the vibrant colours and the speed at which they flap their wings. But i think a swan simply because of their graceful movement, and long neck, i also like the way swans stay coupled together, once a pair one never leaves the other.

Tyto alba, the Barn Owl.

It is one of the few bird species found the world over and has insinuated itself into the mythology and lore of countless countires and peoples.

How can such a hauntingly beautiful bird NOT be the most beautiful?

the white angel dove, often found in the BB10 region of northern England, rarely sighted and impossible to tame, it's nature is to be free, you are quite blessed to see one carrying an olive branch. I once got close to one but sadly she flew away, I have a magazine with a picture of one with her mate. I should really have it framed as the natural beauty of such wild life is astounding.
seeing one first hand is an experience I will never forget.
I have spent many years twitching hoping to get close again but to no avail yet I will not quit.

the birds of paradise, there are so many beautiful ones it is difficult to choose between, and the avocet, is beautiful, and even when you see starlings flocking to roost, that is a beautiful sight, the way the mass of birds block out the light, is fascinating, we are very lucky to see so many left in the wild really because of the depredation of their natural habitat

Now, there are so many to choose from. I really like Siskins. I always give a big sigh for Barn Owls though.
