It's not a valid excuse for anything that the US govt/military wants to do. It may just seem like this with this current administration. Come 2008 we have an opportunity to create positive change in this country, don't we?

Generally speaking, until we finally convince our opponents that their approach to this war is not the way to achieve their goals this is going to continue. Think of it as a new and different version of the Cold War.

your right! we should just forget about it...and while were at it lets for get about the holocaust, pearl harbor, britains taxation of the coloneys, dropping the a-bomb, the civil war, slavery, etc. all they do is reminds of the past and just keep us busy tying to PREVENT them from happening again.
