You are in alternative medicine so there's probably not a lot of doctors here. I'm an iridologist and herbalist, so maybe I can help. Centrum vitamins are synthetic so you don't absorb much of them anyway. There are a lot of different brands of natural food source vitamins that you can get at a health food store. They come from food and are readily absorbed. Some have certain herbs in them. You just need to pick one that fits your needs.

Hi Jay Z. The Herbwizard gave you some pretty good advice.

In 2002 the Journal of the American Medical Association recommended a multi-vitamin/mineral supplement for all adults. This recommendation was based on these facts:

1) Optimal levels of micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) are needed to help in the prevention of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, osteoporosis, diabetes, Alzheimer's disease, etc.

2) Most Americans eat such poor diets that they are often deficient in many micronutrients.

So, taking a quality supplement every day is a good idea. Centrum does not qualify as a 'quality supplement'. If you read the label you will discover the following 'shortcomings':

1) High content of sugars
2) Low content of nutrients
3) Many synthetic forms or cheap forms that are not well-absorbed
4) Preservatives and coloring-agents (which use up vitamins and minerals when the body detoxifies them!)

As the 'Wizard' suggested, it is a good idea to see your nutrition knowledgeable health care professional for a recommendation or go to a good health food store. A good multi-vitamin/mineral supplement will cost about $1.00 a day ($30.00 for a month's supply).

Best wishes and good luck.
