I am going to college in about a year or so and planning on going to school for teaching...I am hoping to be a high school level math teacher and just wondered if you guys knew of any good schools with a good teaching or math program?

The thing about math is that it's the same everywhere. There might be a great Novelist who teaches Creative Writing at a particular college or a Former Governor who teaches Political Science and has a unique perspective, but 2+2=4 everywhere.

Sure, there are some "great" math schools -- MIT, Cal Tech, etc. But if your goal is teaching high school math, your #1 priority should be not taking out any loans to get through school. If you get a full ride to a private college, then go there. But if you can go to State U for low bucks, you'll appreciate it when you are living on a teacher's salary. Also, State U's generally have teaching programs so your teaching certificate will be seamless.

Good luck! We need great math teachers.

First you need to do an undergradate degree in math, then a two-year post-degree program that will qualify you to teach in a public school. In the USA, you may get a job with just the math degree, but you'll flounder in the classroom because you won't have studied teaching methodology. You owe it to your students to complete the six-year program. Lots of schools have great math programs, but standouts are at the following links:
