Light pollution would be a serious factor in the city. A larger scope will have even more problem with light. It draws more in.
Remember not to use to much magnification. Magnification is calculated by dividing the focal length of the telescope by the lense aperture. exp 1200mm focal length divided by 25 mm lenses equals 48 power. It is recommended not to exceed 50 power per inch in the best conditions. 25 per inch is often the maxiumum that should be used. I would consider trying to find a darker location. Try Orion.com to learn more about magnification and the right telescope for your conditions.

Bushnell doesn't make very good telescopes, but your main problem is still light pollution. You either need a darker location or a larger telescope. If you choose the latter, do some research before you buy and don't be wooed by claims of high magnification on the part of the telescope literature.

Singapore is less than an ideal spot for observing for several reasons.
- Too much light from the city.
- Low altitude -- lots of air above you.
- Climate is too damp. Air will be hazy
You need to go to a high, dry, rural place to get good seeing. One such is the top of Mauna Kea in Hawaii; there are lots of observatories there.
